I'd almost lost count how many times I'd been left disappointed over the years as AP kept missing out on the big one. Now he's won the Grand National and finished the year with the Sports Personality crown. Congratulations! From Birmingham - goodnight. The winner will be decided by you folk via a phone vote. The numbers will be announced during the show. I really can't call this - no pun intended. wehateowls on 606 : "Coach of the Year Prize can only go to 1 person and that is Ian Holloway for the miracle job he has done and is still doing at Blackpool." It'll be interesting to see who wins that one - there are a few contenders. 1733: Popped over to main reception area earlier, the guests had already started streaming in - a who's who of sport. Here's the deal - eight awards will be presented on the night: Helen Rollason, Young Personality, Unsung Hero, Team of the Year, Overseas Personality, Coach of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and last, but not least, the main award. By now we know that footballer David Beckham has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award. It promises to be a special moment in the show.
